The Advertising Writing Assignment was a bit challenging because I had to do extensive research to fully understand my product. I did my assignment over Beats Wireless Headphones. I actually own these headphones and after doing this assignment, I was able to gain so much more knowledge on the Beats brand. This assignment was roughly 4 pages including key features of the product, target audience, and so much more. Since I own these headphones I was able to understand the customers perspective and the main reason why people buy Beats headphones. Overall I did well on this assignment and with the help of my teacher’s corrections I was able to fix the format and grammatical errors.
Narrative Writing Assignment
The Narrative Writing Assignment was very enjoyable and fun for me to write! I was able to choose from several different prompts or come up with an original story. I chose the prompt about someone who has choice to choose from a red and green line. They experience a life of success from always choosing the green line. Then one day they decide to choose the red one. I thought the prompt was very interesting and easy to build a story on. In my story I threw in many twists and tried stay away from the cliches. I did very well on this assignment and only had problems with past/future tense words and a couple grammatical errors. I fixed all of my mistakes in the final copy.
Strategic Writing Assignment
I felt as though the Strategic Writing Assignment was an interesting assignment because I was able to create an original piece of persuasive writing. I chose to talk about supporting older youth in foster care. This topic really interests me because I was once a foster child. It’s heartbreaking to know that other kids are going through the same thing as I did. In this paper I talked about sex trafficking among foster kids and how Creative Community Services is raising money to build a home for aging out foster youth. Talking about this subject is important me because so many kids age out of foster care with no family, no safety net, and have very few life skills to live independently and safely.
I had a few grammatical errors, such as adding commas between sentences and bolding certain words. I also forgot to capitalize FOR MORE INFORMATION. After going back and reviewing my corrections, I was bale to make this paper so much better and professional looking.
Informative Writing Assignment
The Informative Writing Assignment was one of the most challenging writing assignments for me this semester. Writing as a journalist is difficult for me due to the different style standards and proper mechanics. However, after doing this assignment I was able to understand my audience and the basis goals when writing in a journalistic style.
I had a few grammatical errors and was docked points for using a passive voice . I also forgot to list the ages of my sources. Going back and correcting these mistakes and looking at my teacher’s corrections allowed me to make this paper so much better than before!
